The 2026 Mullins Conceptual Photography Prize brings together contemporary photographic work from across Australia, exploring the ways photography can be used to communicate ideas, question assumptions and construct new ways of seeing.

Presented by the Australian Photographic Society, the annual prize focuses on photography driven by concept and meaning. Across a diverse range of approaches, this year’s finalists use the photographic image to explore narratives, perspectives and ideas that extend well beyond traditional photographic practice.

Presented at Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre, the prize continues the gallery’s longstanding connection with Australian photography, with the winning work acquired into the Muswellbrook Shire Art Collection.
