CHRONOP: Pathographic Studies draws on the artist’s lived experience of chronic illness, exploring the tension between the body as medically observed and the body as internally felt. Through performance and video-derived chronophotography, sequential stills are extracted from moving image footage to trace subtle repetitions, shifts and instabilities in bodily motion. Enlarged photographic works are presented alongside fragments housed in zip-lock archival bags with collected materials, bandages, pill packets and traces of medical language. The work reflects on how illness is documented, stored and lived. Influenced by early motion studies, medical archives and autopathographic practice, the series sits within what the artist describes as the shadows of illness.
