The Hunter Emerging Art Prize 2026 (HEAP) is the leading art prize for emerging artists in the Hunter. To be 'emerging' refers to an artist not yet formally represented. You may have participated in smaller commercial gallery exhibitions however you are unable to sustain a career based on the sales of your work. You can be 'emerging' at any age. The prize is open to entries until 9 June 2026

2026 acknowledges 25 years of HEAP and this year we have a New Disability Inclusion Section Prize which is supported by the Lee Family in memory of Fina Lee.
