Benjamin Gallagher’s latest exhibition, REDUX, opens at Straitjacket this Saturday 29 August, 11am–5pm, with the artist there on the day.

Gallagher’s work is grounded in a long fascination with the built environment and the decisions, materials and processes that shape the places around us. Drawing on a background in architecture and industrial design, alongside years spent working in heritage restoration, he looks closely at buildings old and new, from carefully considered structures to the humble and improvised.

REDUX continues this examination of how we build, what we preserve, and what our buildings reveal about the culture that made them.
