Having spent the past 12 months at The Creator Incubator as the 2025 HIC Services Artist Residency Award (HIC_ARA) recipient, Sandy Sanderson (@sandy_sanderson_) closes her residency with Sky Rivers.

Sky Rivers explores air as a living, relational force, moving between bodies, forests and weather. Through soft sculpture and sound, the installation invites you to slow down, rest and breathe. Fabric leaves marked with enlarged stomata gather on the floor, while chiffon ribbons fall from the ceiling like breath, vapour and weather in motion. Banners of cryptic symbols hang like devotional forms, framing the atmosphere as a kind of cathedral, informed by the biotic pump theory.
